Re-ridging is a very common practice within the thatching industry. Many roofs reach a stage where the ridge has come to the end of its serviceable life but the thatch is in good condition. This is due to the simple fact that ridges wear out far quicker than the actual thatch, therefore it makes sense to replace the ridge and refurbish the thatch leaving the whole roof in good order.
